A series of books by Chinese writer Liu Cixin has become a real superstar lately: suddenly everyone wants to make a film of it. The only person who has never heard of ‘Three Body Problem’ is someone who is very far removed from TV series, but this most likely refers to the Netflix project that came out this year. It turned out pretty well: at least judging by the pretty decent 7.0 rating on Kinopoisk (on Rotten Tomatoes the series has 79% from critics and 77% from viewers).
Few people have heard of the Chinese drama of the same name, which was released only a year ago: but it has higher ratings (on Kinopoisk it has 7.7), and with authenticity (according to many fans) it turned out much better. Fans of the Chinese version note that it was created with the participation of the author of the novel and that the cast there at least came out much better than in the Netflix adaptation.
