And although “Doctor House” is just hugely popular, strangely enough, in Russia it does not have many remakes or analogues. The first one came out in 2017. We will tell you how it turned out and how the audience perceived it.

What is the name of this series?

The creators decided not to be too clever and called the domestic project “Doctor Richter”. We will not go into the plot, because this is simply a word-for-word retelling of the original with changes to Russian reality. The main character is still the same sociopath, but a very cool specialist in his field, so the chief doctor supports him very much.

Not only the general storyline is repeated, but also the smallest details, down to camera angles, jokes and even entire sentences. The film crew was limited in their creative impulses by a team of American curators. So although they bought the rights to the remake, no one gave them any freedom.

The main roles were played by Alexey Serebryakov, Dmitry Endaltsev, Polina Chernyshova and Pavel Chinarev.

How did audiences react to the remake?

On Kinopoisk it was rated average – only 5.6 points. And on IMDb it is even lower: the series received only 4.2 points. At the same time, some foreigners liked the project and said that Russians hate it undeservedly.

But in Russia they think differently about this:

“The biggest problem is the acting and the selection of actors. I only gave the series a 3 because I haven’t seen Serebryakov in a long time. Who did they cast as the dominantly sexy Lisa Cuddy? Damn, Anya Michalkova! Chicken, by God, chicken!”
