The “Friends” cast is reportedly “closer than ever” following Matthew Perry’s sudden death

Nearly a month later, a source close to the A-listers said Life and style that the friends became “even closer” in the midst of the tragedy. “They are working it out in different ways and will share it when they are ready,” the source explained on Nov. 22. “If there’s any good news, it’s that the cast is even closer than ever.”

As comedy fans know, the 54-year-old actor has been acting Friends from 1994 until the series finale in 2004. His former co-stars include Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlancAND David Schwimmer. “His death left a big void in the hearts of his former cast members,” the source added, referring to the group’s emotional reaction to Matthew’s passing.

The group initially released a statement regarding Matthew’s death PEOPLE on October 30th. “We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. “We are family,” said the somber letter two days after Matthew’s death. “There is a lot to say, but now let’s take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.” The co-stars added that they would “say more” when they were ready. “We will say more over time, when possible,” they added. “For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.”

Matt, 56, was first Friends The former student will break his silence via Instagram on November 14. “Matteo, I greet you with great regret. The moments we spent together are honestly some of the favorite moments of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you friend,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “I always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly, brother, you are finally free. A lot of love. And I think you can keep the $20 you owe me.”

Meanwhile, Jennifer, 54, took to Instagram on Nov. 15 to write an open letter to her late friend. “Wow, that was profound… Having to say goodbye to our Matty was a wave of crazy emotions that I had never felt before,” she began her caption during a series of photos with Matthew. “Matty, I love you so much and I know that you are now completely at peace and without any pain. I talk to you every day…sometimes I can almost hear you say ‘could you BE any crazier?'”

Around the same time, David also took to social media to mourn his former co-star and friend. “Matty, thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity,” her caption began, before concluding with: “I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white dress, hands in your pockets, looking around.” Mateo leaves his father, John Bennett Perryhis mother, Susanna Morrisonyour stepfather, Keith Morrisonand five brothers.
