Who is Johnny Ruffo’s girlfriend? Tahnee Sims was dubbed the late singer’s “guardian angel” and the couple even planned to start a family while she was by his side until the end of his tragic battle with cancer.

Former Home and Away star and X Factor finalist Johnny Ruffo lost his battle with brain cancer on Friday at the age of 35.

And there was one person who stood by him throughout his fight: his girlfriend Tahnee Sims.

The 29-year-old, who works in product development for fast fashion brand White Fox Boutique, was described by Ruffo as his “guardian angel”.

“Without her I might not be here,” Johnny told Now To Love last year.

“She was the one who let me get in the car.” [to go to hospital] If that [the headaches] “It happened first,” he continued.

The couple met in a dance studio in 2015 and have been inseparable ever since.

Tahnee regularly attended dates with Johnny and shared clips of the star undergoing treatment.

“She is remarkable. “I can’t compliment her enough on how amazing she was and how much I could count on her for support,” he recently told Perth radio station Youth Jam.

“I honestly don’t know how she did it. Sometimes I feel like she had a harder time than me because she had to deal with everything with me – except the actual chemotherapy – but she also had to deal with me, my ups and downs and my publicity kick.’

In a heartbreaking interview on The Project last year, Johnny opened up about his worries about how Tahnee would cope after his death.

“You can only imagine how hard it was for her,” he told then-host Carrie Bickmore.

“We’re just having a good time.” We make each other laugh so much. You know that heartbreaking laugh that brings tears to your eyes? he said

“We argue and fight like any other couple, but we also make up,” he said

“I often think about how difficult it would be for them if something happened to me,” he explained.

“So it’s something I don’t want to think about. It just makes me a little emotional because I know something is going to happen at some point, whether it’s a month from now, ten years from now or twenty years from now.”

Ruffo also told Bickmore that he had already exceeded his life expectancy.

“It’s going to affect me at some point, but I’m still fighting. I’m still pedaling. Given my diagnosis and my tumor, the average life expectancy was three years,” he said.

In an excerpt from his new memoir, No Finish Line, the singer explained that he hopes to start a family with Tahnee.

“Suddenly I found myself having conversations about chemotherapy, radiation, and whether I would have to freeze my sperm if I became infertile,” he wrote.

“There’s something about almost being dead that puts things into perspective for you…Up until that point, the only real things that mattered in my life were, in no particular order: performing, recording music, acting, tahnee, family and parties. with friends,” he wrote.

The singer died in a Sydney hospital on Friday morning, his spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

The actor died peacefully in the presence of his family and his beloved partner Tahnee.

“I honestly don’t know how she did it. “Sometimes I feel like she had it harder than me because she had to deal with everything with me – except the actual chemotherapy – but she also had to deal with me, my ups and downs and the publicity kick,” he said.

The heartbreaking news was announced on his Instagram page on Friday.

“It is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny today,” reads the statement.

“Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family, Johnny passed away peacefully with the support of some incredible nurses and doctors.

“He was a very talented, charming and sometimes cheeky boy.” Johnny was very determined and strong. He fought to the end and as hard as he could. Such a beautiful soul who still has so much to give.

“We all love you, Johnny, and will remember you for bringing so much joy to our lives. Rest in peace.’

He received his first diagnosis in 2017 and underwent life-saving surgery in which a seven centimeter tumor was successfully removed.

Born in the Perth suburb of Balcatta, Ruffo’s showbiz career began when he successfully auditioned for the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011.

A music career followed, during which Ruffo released several hit singles, including On Top and Take It Home.

However, he is perhaps best known for his role as fan favorite Chris Harrington on Home and Away between 2013 and 2016.

In 2020, he also appeared in this series’ soap rival Neighbours.
