Amanda Abbington says she ‘cannot imagine life’ without fiancee Jonathan Goodwin

Amanda Abbington revealed that after her stroke, people she knew asked her if she wanted to be with her boyfriend, Jonathan Goodwin.

The 50-year-old actress and 42-year-old former daredevil were friends for years before dating, but were only together for two months until she was permanently paralyzed when Jonathan was crushed during a stunt.

Speaking to the guard, Amanda said she couldn’t imagine a life without him and shared how her accident changed her perspective on life.

He said: “It was one of the worst summons. But Jonathan is very strong. He is a good inspiration. He never complained about it.

“Sometimes he feels nostalgic for what he did, but he also says, ‘Now this is the next chapter of my life.

“A lot of people I know say to me, ‘Are you staying with him?’ he asked. “Yes, of course,” I said. I can’t imagine a life without it. We’re having too much fun. It makes me laugh like the others. None of this, even his misfortune, seemed insurmountable.”

Amanda and America’s Got Talent star Jonathan started chatting on the phone when they realized they were both single after their breakup.

Amanda said: “Many people I know ask me, ‘Are you with him?’ she asked. “Yes, of course,” I said. I can’t imagine a life without it’

The actress, who was previously married to Martin Freeman, said they sometimes talked on the phone for seven hours.

Jonathan then asked Amanda to marry him within an hour of their actual meeting in Vienna, Austria.

During the show, Jonathan was suspended 30 feet in a straitjacket between two cars.

He was severely crushed in the accident, his shoulder blades were broken, his spinal cord was severed and he crushed both of his legs, he also lost a kidney.

Jonathan nearly died in the accident and on the operating table.

Stunt: The stunt was filmed at Atlanta Motor Speedway where Jonathan was suspended 70 feet in the air.

Elsewhere during her interview, Amanda spoke about her divorce from Martin and said that the former couple “had a wonderful 16 years together”.

He added that they broke up for personal reasons but had a lot of fun together and the two of them have moved on ever since.

Amanda has already talked about the difficulties of filming Sherlock with Martin, whom she broke up with in 2016.

The couple played husband and wife in the series, but had to divorce backstage during filming.

On Desert Island Discs, she said, “We had our breakup months ago and we were very quiet. So it was really tough.
