“I’m not here to bitch about my best friends, but there was a serious miscommunication from him.

“I just want to fix things more than anything. I’m not here to whine. I wasn’t invited to that part of Jamie’s wedding, and neither was Vogue.”

Williams added, “Sophie looked absolutely stunning, we absolutely loved them, but we also didn’t know it was happening because we weren’t invited.”

The presenter also revealed that she is “angry” to miss out on an invite to the Chelsea service, as a scheduling conflict means she will also have to miss her second overseas ceremony in May.

She said: “I’m angry because I can’t go to the wedding and it’s not my fault. My manager messed up my schedule and I actually have a show on the day of Jamie’s wedding.”

The couple returned from their holiday abroad to find an inbox full of messages accusing them of “rejecting” the wedding, some of which were “really mean”.

And Matthews admits he was “upset” not to receive an invitation as he would have “flew out to Japan” to attend his best friend’s wedding ceremony.

He said: “Long story short I didn’t get the call for the wedding and about ten days ago I went to his place to answer [podcast] Sixty degrees.

“I said, is there anything I can do for this registry? Is there anything I can do for you since I am part of this wedding and one of your groomsmen?

And he said no, it’s a very small family thing and you don’t have to do anything – nobody comes. It’s small.’

Matthews says he took Laing at his word, but was surprised when he returned from Portugal to discover published photos of his best friend’s wedding, surrounded by numerous grooms.

He said: “I’ve got an inbox full of messages from angry people saying ‘I’m not here. Well, I’m quite shocked myself to be honest that I haven’t had a call.’

Matthews revealed that he called Laing the next day for an explanation, and was told that the service ended up being bigger than he and Habboo had originally planned.

“They decided to make more of it, but I was away so he didn’t think about it,” he said. “And I thought I flew over from Japan for this because you’re my best friend and I would have loved to be there.

“I don’t really think you made the right call deciding for me when you could have asked and I would have come.”

Williams added: “Jamie was busy to be honest and we’re not trying in any way with Jamie or Sophie.

“We hope they had a great day and we wish we were there, but I really think they thought they were in Portugal, it doesn’t matter.

“I’m just angry because I could have gone to one of them. Now I can’t go to any of them.’

While they missed the ceremony, Laing and Habboo were joined at the wedding by family and friends, including the bride’s sister Georgia, mother and father, and Jamie’s mother and sister.

Her Made In Chelsea co-stars, including Melissa Tattam and Gigi & Olive founder Georgie Le Roux, were also in attendance.

Sophie’s £3,865 dress for the formal was by Vivienne Westwood and is called The Mini Cora Cocotte – inspired by the pioneering Cocotte shape.

The dress was first made as a long dress for Vivienne’s granddaughter Cora Corré for her 21st birthday.

In their first interview together, the couple insisted they wouldn’t turn their marriage into a reality show because relationships would have a better chance of surviving without the cameras.

Candy Kittens owner Laing told MailOnline that reality TV is “hard on the soul” and after realizing he wanted to marry former co-star Sophie, he knew his departure from Made In Chelsea was inevitable.

He revealed: “We’ve been asked to do a TV show but it’s hard. I’ve been doing reality for so long and it’s heavy on the soul. I don’t think TV is ever on your own terms, so unless you are in control of those things, it is quite difficult.

“It’s one of those things where you have to decide if you want to go down the reality TV route again or not.

“What happens when you’re married? Let’s do another show on marriage… when does it end? For now I’m parking reality.’
