The teenager disgraced himself in front of the entire film crew.
In the Harry Potter books, Neville Longbottom was a fat and clumsy boy. It was the same in the first two Wizard Boy movies. However, actor Matthew Lewis, who played the character, had noticeably lost weight by the third film.
The director wanted the artist to maintain the image. To do this, he had to make sacrifices. The teenager was very ashamed of what he had to do.
“The break between the second and third films was longer than usual – during this time I lost weight. They tried to fill my cheeks with cotton wool, then they put pieces of a sponge in my mouth. They sucked saliva, it was very disgusting! Also shoes that are 2 sizes too big, plastic inserts behind the ears so they stick out forward, and dentures. I’m 15 years old, there are a lot of girls around, and I wear this damn thing every day. But everyone thinks I’m just fat,” the star said in an interview with Metro.
