Jamie Lee Curtis makes the rounds at film award ceremonies as part of the A24 cast Everything, everywhere, all at once, said on Friday that she had Covid. That means she’ll have to miss several scheduled stops along the route, including today’s AFI Awards luncheon and Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards.
Curtis attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday, where she was nominated for a Supporting Actress Award. A similar honor awaits her at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards after being nominated by the SAG Awards this week, her first nomination there since 1995. True lies.
“Unfortunately, this head cheerleader will not be there to cheer on her friends and colleagues during this weekend’s celebrations. She lives on the life terms,” Curtis wrote on Instagram today, with a photo of three Covid home tests and these double rules, I’m glad all these home tests are available so I didn’t go to the @americanfilminstitute lunch and eat not. spread my germs. I was SO excited to be a nominee and member of a motley crew at the @bafta tea and @criticschoice awards! I’m so proud of these people and look forward to seeing them through my encouraging TV. Stay safe out there people.”
The awards for Curtis and the film are likely to begin next week, beginning with BAFTA’s announcement of the nominations on January 20. Oscar nominations are on January 24th.
on the pears, Everything everywhere won in two of the six categories he was nominated for in Musical Comedy: Key Hu Quan for Supporting Actor and Michelle Yeoh for Lead Actress.
The film, directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, has already been recognized as an AFI Top 10 film and will be celebrated at the institute’s well-attended luncheon today. He took home 14 top honors at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards.
The invitation-only annual BAFTA Tea Party takes place Saturday at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
