The creators of The Witcher at X announced that the series has been given the green light for its fifth and final season.
As stated in the post: “We are officially announcing: The fourth season of The Witcher is in production. But that’s not all: We are already planning the fifth season, which will be the last season and will bring a fitting end to this epic show. See you on the continent.”
The series, adapted from the book series of the same name by author Andrzej Sapkowski, premiered in 2019. The plot follows Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who travels through a world reminiscent of the Middle Ages and kills supernatural creatures for money.
Despite Henry Cavill playing the reluctant hero in the first three seasons, Netflix announced that Cavill will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in October 2022. He made his debut as Geralt in the fourth season: “At first I was quite hesitant and skeptical. It’s strange to be in the middle of a series like this and receive an offer to continue playing the main role. But as a fan of the video game, I felt like I could do something great with it.”
The first full trailer of “The Witcher” starring Liam Hemsworth was previously released.
