After the success of Beware of the Car, Eldar Ryazanov continued to collaborate with Emil Braginsky and together they wrote an interesting script based on a true story for the future film. However, in the Soviet Union there was an unspoken rule – it was necessary to shoot only according to a published work, an unknown script was not suitable for working on a film.
I had to go for the trick. The authors wrote a story based on the story of a union worker who took general money from the cash register, bought bonds with it, returned it and published it in a magazine.
After presenting management with a story in the magazine, the authors were given the go-ahead to make the comedy Zigzag of Fortune, Mir24 recalls.
