We imagine it is in high demand. What particularly appealed to you in this project?
Audrey Fleurot: The first is the desire to work with the series creator, Cyril Mennegun. We met at a festival where we were a member of the jury and we bonded immediately. I was also very happy to collaborate with Arte, who reveals fictions that cannot be done elsewhere. In the end, I had the feeling that I hadn’t gotten to the ground that was madness yet.
However, Hortense, the character’s a french village(France 3), lost his mind last season too…
Yeah, it’s pretty funny because journalists like you during interviews. winter spiritthis reminded me that I was already playing madness with Hortense… you can tell I’m not nostalgic!
Is it complicated to dose the frenzy in the game?
Yes, because we are touching something we do not know. I didn’t want it to look like a fabrication, so I worked on the concrete: loss of control, anxiety… Then the very idea of this isolated house at the foot of the mountain where its first neighbors appeared. Being 15 kilometers away is already too far for me. Such a retreat into the family unit, which, as we know, is the basis of all neuroses … My character, Nathalie, does not make her job at all easy.
Who made the attempt to trade your famous red hair for this platinum blonde?
It was a very strong wish of the director. I think he had this eternal tooth in his imagination. I joined because I never had the opportunity and I was a bit tired of being ‘flashy’. I have never used any other hair color in my life because I think nature is good. But it’s great for forgetting yourself. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn’t recognize myself.
Did you feel the heavy atmosphere reflected on the screen on set?
It was mostly about shooting in the studio. Since we are in the same environment every day, without any external lighting, I completely lost the concept of time. I no longer knew what day of the week it was, or even the time. Working behind closed doors at this place really helped create a special atmosphere, but it remained very intimate. Especially since I’m always trying to work on some kind of loss of concentration, to be able to let things go.
What awaits your character Morgane in HPI season 3 for TF1, which you have started shooting for?
There was a desire to put him in a dangerous situation because it is part of his DNA. After kissing Karadec (Mehdi Nebbou, editor’s note), Karadec gives up his job in the police to become a cleaner again. Frankly, this is very bad at business and it always results in crappy plans. But that’s what drives him intellectually, so he won’t be able to stop himself from taking on the investigations alone… which will get him in trouble!
