The journalist settled in Fort Worth, a Texas city in the United States where time seemed to stand still in the time of pioneers and cowboys. Farms, rodeos, cowboys, saloons…

What caught your attention the most?

Alexandra Alevêque: That famous rodeo night that takes place every weekend at the Cowtown Coliseum, arguably one of the largest indoor arenas in the world. I was far from imagining that this was a real sport. It’s dangerous, but the show is extraordinary because there’s a mix of rivalry, American-style patriotism, and it all starts with a mass and an anthem. Amazing and very moving.

What other destinations will you be taking us to soon?

On August 24 I will take you to explore Hydra, a car-free Greek island, then on August 31 I will travel to northeast India to visit Mawsynram, the wettest city in the country. However, these will be the last chapters of this collection, which I have voluntarily decided to discontinue.

Do you have any other projects?

Nothing specific at the moment. I have other desires as well, but I will never stray too far from this profession, which I have been pursuing for nearly twenty-five years. Then, in parallel with journalism, I developed an online second-hand store on Instagram. Nice, yes. Ever since I’m old enough to have a bag, I like to hunt around. Maybe one day I will mix these two activities that fascinate me?
