The vibrant new trailer for WICKED: FOR GOOD releases as tickets go on sale

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Evil: foreverand while it features plenty of lively footage and teasing music, also remember that tickets to the film are not on sale.

This is the second chapter of the two-part cinematic event, which not only serves as a prequel to the Wizard of Ozbut also revisits key elements of the legendary story.

It will conclude the untold story of the witches of Oz, which begins with Elphaba and Glinda drifting apart and living with the consequences of their choices.

In the movie “Elphaba (Cinzia Erivo), now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hiding in the Ozian forest as she continues her fight for the freedom of the Silenced Beasts of Oz and desperately tries to reveal the truth she knows about the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).

“Glinda (Arianna Grande), meanwhile, has become the charming symbol of goodness for all of Oz, living in the palace of Emerald City and enjoying the benefits of fame and popularity. Under the guidance of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the Wizard’s rule.

“As Glinda’s stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Olivier Award winner and Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey) in a spectacular Lazy wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. She attempts to broker a reconciliation between Elphaba and the Wizard, but these efforts fail, further alienating Elphaba and Glinda.

“The aftershocks will transform Boq (Ethan Slater) and Fiyero forever, and threaten the safety of Elphaba’s sister Nessarose (Marissa Bode), when a girl from Kansas bursts into their lives.

“As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba must reunite one last time. With their singular friendship now the centerpiece of their future, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, forever.”

Jon M. Chu is the director of the film, and Universal is clearly setting the stage for a dramatic collision of plots. The film will arrive in theaters on November 21st.
