NBA player accused of drug trafficking faces jail

Police officer Jesse Owens, who was present at the scene, said in his report that the NBA player caught a strong smell of marijuana in his car. The latter later admitted that he had a small amount of marijuana in his sweatpants. But during an extensive search of the vehicle, police found large quantities of drugs placed under vacuum in a backpack placed in the backseat.

As a result, Montrezl Harrell is accused by Kentucky authorities of drug trafficking under five pounds (about 2.2 kilograms). Classified in category D in this American state, this crime is punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Montrezl Harrell’s indictment was scheduled for Monday, June 13, but was postponed to July 13. The actor’s franchise, the Charlotte Hornets, declined to comment on the matter. Montrezl Harrell could put his career in jeopardy as he finds himself a “free agent” in the market this summer. If found guilty, NBA teams shouldn’t bother with the top vote.to Man of the year 2020.
