Cineverse has released the official trailer for Cotton moutha brutal and stylish new western that brings old-school revenge to the frontier. Directed by Brock Harristhe film takes place in 1895 Oklahoma and reinvents The Count of Monte Cristo like a harsh tale of revenge on the dusty plains.
The story follows Martin Sensmeier as Ed Dantes, a man whose life falls apart on the eve of his wedding when betrayal, jealousy and bloodshed collide. After being framed and thrown into a hellish territorial prison, Ed manages to walk off the edge, reborn as an outlaw with a score to settle. As the trailer teases, “Love turns to blood. Justice turns to revenge.”
Set in the town of Ingalls, Oklahoma, Cotton mouth pits Ed against his former friend Frank (Jonathan Sadowski) and corrupt saloon owner Billy Dunn (Eric Nelsen), who has both his eye on Ed’s future bride, Sophia (Alyssa Wapanatâhk) and his family’s saloon. What follows is a violent showdown as Ed races for revenge, testing where loyalty ends and justice begins.
Ron Perlmann AND Esai Morales add the gravitas of veterans to the cast, together Jonathan Lipnickicompleting an ensemble that brings grit and emotional depth to Harris’ frontier world. The film’s tagline reads: “Every bullet carries the weight of a broken heart.”
With its mix of dusty revenge, doomed love and classic Western intensity, Cotton mouth it feels like a sharp shot of frontier fury.
Cineverse will release the film directly to VOD on November 4, 2025.
