Angel Carter Conrad is mourning the loss of her older sister Bobbie Jean Carter after news of her death at the age of 41 broke.
Nick and Aaron Carter’s sister who also appeared on the reality series Carter houseI dedicated a heartfelt letter to Bobbie Jean.
“To my older sister Bobbie.” You had a great sense of humor and a lively spirit. Growing up, I was your baby and you were my best friend,” Angel wrote in an open letter that was later shared on Instagram. “Life hasn’t been fair to you, I know that. Sometimes it feels like you never had a chance, no matter what.”
The Carters have experienced the tragic loss of their siblings over the years. Aaron was found dead in his home in 2022 at the age of 34 after drowning in his bathtub after inhaling difluoroethane. And in 2012, her sister Leslie died of a drug overdose at the age of 25.
“It is incredibly important for children to experience innocence rather than be burdened by trauma, pain and suffering, especially at such a young age,” Angel continued in her letter to Bobbie Jean. “I know why Leslie, Aaron and now ended up in the same situation as you. I share the pain we experienced in our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have a chance for a better life.
“We all need to break down barriers, reduce stigma and build a society where seeking mental health support is met with understanding and encouragement. It starts with our children and leads to healthy conversations at home.”
Angel ended the post with the following words: “I love you BJ, you are free now.”
