It’s a land of fantasy, but police were unfazed by a recent call to Disneyland about an active shooter that turned out to be a hoax.
Dozens of Anaheim police officers were at the Disneyland Hotel with guns drawn after reports of an active shooter.
Anaheim police responded at 6:10 p.m. Thursday with what was described as a “significant law enforcement response,” according to Anaheim police spokesman Sergeant Jon McClintock.
Police said there was no evidence of a shooting or someone armed at the Disneyland Hotel.
According to Disneyland officials, the Disneyland Hotel’s Fantasy Tower has been evacuated.
“There is currently no threat to the Disneyland Resort or surrounding area,” the Anaheim Police Department’s Instagram account said. “There will be an increased police presence throughout the evening at the Disneyland Resort and surrounding areas.”
