Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Glenn Close has been tapped to play the legendary actor Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Carmel Snow at Apple TV+ The new look. The streamer revealed the news today along with two first photos of Close as the character. You can see them below. The role is the first reunion for Close and The new look Creator Todd A. Kessler since their collaboration on the critically acclaimed series Injury.

Starring Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel, Close joins the star-studded cast of Maisie Williams as Catherine Dior; John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong; Emily Mortimer as Elsa Lombardi; and Claes Bang as Sparrow.

Inspired by true events and shot exclusively in Paris, The new look focuses on fashion designers Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and their contemporaries as they endured the horrors of World War II and brought modern fashion to market.

Set against the backdrop of the Nazi occupation of Paris during World War II, the series focuses on the pivotal moment in the 20th century when the French city was brought back to life by fashion icon Christian Dior. While Dior gains fame for its groundbreaking, iconic expression of beauty and influence, Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer is in jeopardy. The intertwined saga follows the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals, from Chanel to Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga and more; and offers a wonderful insight into the studio, designs and clothes created by Christian Dior in collaboration with the House of Dior.

The new look is produced by Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions, with Kessler writing, executive producing and directing. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker also serve as executive producers.

The new look will show the first three episodes of the 10-part series on Wednesday, February 14th on Apple TV+, followed by one episode every Wednesday until April 3rd.
