Actor Chay Suede surprised the cast and crew of Brazilian telenovela Quem Ama Cuida by bringing homemade honey bread baked by his mother to set.
Actress Leticia Colin, 36, who plays Adriana in the production, revealed the sweet delivery on Monday, November 2, as filming continued at full pace despite the national holiday.
Colin documented the backstage atmosphere in a collection of video clips uploaded to her social media account. She told followers that the holiday brought small moments and big business for everyone on the production.
In one clip, Suede walked around handing out the baked treats, known in Brazil as pao de mel. Colin declared that Suede's mother made the best honey bread in the world and said she could prove it. Another member of the production added that the cakes were also the softest, prompting Suede to reply that they were the tastiest as well.
Pao de mel is a traditional Brazilian honey cake seasoned with warm spices like cinnamon and cloves, then coated in chocolate. Suede, who rose to prominence as a musician before establishing himself as a leading television actor, portrays the attorney Pedro in the series. Brazilian telenovela productions frequently work demanding schedules through public holidays like November 2, an official holiday in Brazil, to keep up with daily broadcasts.
Family visits on the set
The behind-the-scenes recordings also showed that several cast members invited their parents to spend the working holiday beside them. Colin brought her father, Jose Helio Colin, who was filmed chatting with veteran actor Tony Ramos, while co-star Mariana Sena brought her mother to the studios.
Ramos, one of the most recognized figures in Brazilian television history, has starred in landmark series across a career spanning more than five decades. In another video from the set, Colin joked with actor Henrique Barreira, who plays Andre in the serial, with the two colleagues playfully addressing each other as little in-laws.
Followers of the show praised the backstage camaraderie in the comments under the post. One viewer described the project as the best telenovela in the world with the best cast environment, while another fan observed that Colin's father and Ramos had already become best friends.
Inheritance feud in Quem Ama Cuida
While the actors enjoyed sweet treats off camera, their characters face intense turmoil on screen during this week's episodes. A major plotline written by Walcyr Carrasco and Claudia Souto erupts when Brigitte, played by Tata Werneck, discovers that her mother, Pilar, stole an entire fortune left behind by her ex-husband.
Brigitte moves immediately to confront the matriarch, played by Isabel Teixeira, igniting a bitter financial conflict that reshapes the narrative. Carrasco and Souto are celebrated in Brazilian television for crafting high-stakes family rivalries and inheritance disputes that drive prime-time drama.
Werneck is widely known across Brazil as a comedic performer and television presenter, while Teixeira has drawn acclaim for playing dramatic villains. In the storyline, Brigitte's discovery sparks a fresh battle over the family wealth.
Legal clash and family confrontation
The storyline accelerates on Tuesday, November 3, when Brigitte and Lyris, played by Pri Helena, discover a vital document bearing the heiress's name among the personal effects of Arthur Brandao, played by Antonio Fagundes.
Lyris, a former inmate, advises Brigitte to show the newfound paperwork to Pedro. After examining the legal records, the lawyer confirms her worst suspicions, revealing that Pilar indeed stole the inheritance that Brigitte's father intended for his daughter.
Determined to reclaim her rightful fortune at any cost, Brigitte prepares for an all-out confrontation against Pilar. The clash pits the heiress directly against both the powerful matriarch and her two siblings, Ingrid, played by Agatha Moreira, and Rafael, played by Joao Vitor Silva.
