Dolly Parton appears as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader in the NFL halftime show and sings iconic hits

If you got it, you got it. And Dolly Parton still has it.

The country legend and reluctant Rock & Roll Hall of Famer performed today during halftime of the NFL game between the Washington Commanders and host Dallas Cowboys and brought down the billion dollar house with a six-minute, three-song concert.

On their recently released rock double album rockstar, The veteran singer-songwriter opened with a pitch to the Salvation Army before performing two of her signature hits and a reworked Queen classic. Parton opened with “Jolene,” her iconic take on a man-stealing, auburn-haired vixen with the signature line: “Please don’t take him just because you can.” This month marks the song’s golden anniversary after it was first recorded on the November 1973 Country charts before hitting #1.

She won a Grammy and followed it up with another big hit, the 1980 comedy “9 to 5,” in which she starred alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. This song topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts, won two Grammys and was nominated for Song of the Year.

A stadium full of people was the perfect place to perform the evening’s closing song, their cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You”/”We Are the Champions”. This is the fourth and final single from rockstar, and the Texas audience gobbled it up like post-turkey pie.
