The remaining cast of the Emmy-winning NBC/Warner Bros. TV comedy series have broken their silence following the sudden, tragic death of their cast member and friend Matthew Perry.
“We are all devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family,” Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer told People in a statement. “There is so much to say, but for now we will take a moment to grieve and come to terms with this incredible loss.”
“We will say more in due course, if and when we can,” the statement continued. “At this time, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and all those who loved him around the world.”
Perry died on Saturday afternoon at the age of 54. He was found unconscious in his home by rescue workers who were unable to revive him after a reported drowning. The comedic actor is known for playing the feisty and spirited yet friendly Chandler Bing Friends during the ten seasons of the hit series.
