Kenneth Branagh has been living a busy daily life in recent months. Among the films he directed, such as recent Death on the Nile and Belfastand the actors they played, especially Nolan principle (2021) and Oppenheimer (2023), the British actor doesn’t stop for a second.
The 61-year-old comedian will appear on the small screen alongside film productions. The Royal Shakespeare Company actor will play British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. thisEngland.
Sky, which produces the series, released the first footage with a few-second teaser on Wednesday, May 18 (see below). We see an unrecognizable Kenneth Branagh after a few hours of makeup to transform him. Written and directed by Michael Winterbottom, this mini-epic will hark back to the controversial early months of Johnson’s term.
The series will describe in depth the Covid-19 pandemic period in Great Britain, where the decisions taken by the British leader were highly criticized across the Channel.
The trailer specifically reveals one of Boris Johnson’s famous press conferences to explain his decisions to UK citizens to deal with the contamination explosion. In addition to the pandemic, all five episodes will revisit the Brexit era and Johnson’s personal and political debates. The series will be released in the UK in 2022.
