Experts at the New York Nature Center performed a magnificent operation. They transplanted the wing of a dead butterfly to restore its ability to fly, People reported.

After a local resident brought the insect to the clinic, doctors began looking for dead butterflies of the same species. The transplant turned out to be the work of a jeweler and took about five hours.
During the operation, veterinarians used contact cement, cornstarch and a piece of wire to immobilize the insect. The slightest wrong move can damage the butterfly’s fragile body. The operation was successful despite all the risks.
“A monarch butterfly with a broken wing was brought to us and we fixed it. We have the vitality of a butterfly, so we took the wing of a dead butterfly and attached it to a live butterfly. And believe it or not, it worked,” the experts said.
By the way, we previously wrote that veterinarians at the Zelenograd clinic performed an ultrasound examination of fish for the first time. An unusual patient was diagnosed with a cyst and underwent successful surgery.
