Your character, Vince, is a member of a former Boys group… It’s hard not to see a reference to 2Be3 there! Was the role written for you?
Frank Delay : Not at all, I passed the casting like everyone else. Jean-Luc Azoulay didn’t even know I was kidnapped, it was me who told him.
Did you hesitate before saying yes to this role that takes you to the 2Be3 era once again?
To be honest, I wasn’t enthusiastic at first. I’ve been an actor since 2007, so playing the singer in a boy band pissed me off. In the end, I found that the script was based and my character Vince was well written and offered a good range of emotions.
Exactly, who is your character Vince?
It is misjudged. Everyone thinks it’s a heartache, even though it isn’t. He didn’t particularly want to gather conquests, even if it rained. He fell in love, but things went wrong. He needs to exist as a solo artist after slavery, and at the same time he is in integrity with the friends he started with. He finds himself torn apart because he is so loyal.
Does it look like you?
From some sides. Like choosing his friends over a solo career. Also in his relationship with love stories. I wasn’t dating in the 2be3 time. I did not take advantage of success to chain conquests.
You had a mutual friend with Anthony Dupray: Filip Nikolic. Did you know each other before filming?
We used to see each other often, but we were not close. I discovered it while filming. We talked a lot, especially anecdotes about Filip. And then, someone who always responds in a good mood.
What memories do you have of the shoot?
It was just happiness, but I put pressure on myself. Few people know that I do theatre. It will be his first time as an actor, as a bonus. I will be judged directly.
This episode was directed by Laurent Ournac…
Laurent put me at ease immediately. He was able to find the words I needed to comfort me or move the cursor back to the correct level, especially when I was acting very angry.
