DC Studios Announces Animated Film WATCHMEN

DC Studios has announced that they will be developing an animated film adaptation of Alan Moore AND Dave Gibbon’ classic graphic novel Guardians. No information has been provided on what the plan is for the film. We don’t know if it will be a direct adaptation of the comic, if it will be some sort of sequel, or if there are other plans. But we are getting a new Watchmen blueprint.

I think it would be cool if we had an animated film that was a direct adaptation of the original comic. Don’t change anything. Just use Moore’s writing as a guide and develop it using top-notch animation in Gibbons’ own style. Just animate the graphic novel!

Watchmen follows an alternate history in the United States where superheroes emerged in the 1940s, the United States won the Vietnam War, and the Watergate scandal was never revealed. In the story, the US and the USSR are approaching World War III, while most of the superheroes work for the government or are retired. The story follows the moral struggle of superheroes Rorschach, Doctor Manhattan, Nite Owl and others as they come out of retirement to deal with the murder of Edward Blake, known as The Comedian, a state-sponsored superhero.

It was also announced that DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths will also be getting an animated film adaptation. What would you like to see from an animated Watchmen movie?
