Alexandra Naoum reacts to Louise’s death in Tomorrow Belongs to Us: "A trip to remember!" (NOT INCLUDING)

Louise Kersal’s interpreter said goodbye to her character after a funeral wedding with Bart (Hector Langevin). For Télé 7 Jours, this tragic ending admits that the outcome of a great adventure in Tomorrow is ours (TF1).

What was your reaction when you found out that Louise was going to die?

Alexandra Naoum: I knew very early, I found out in January. It is entirely the scenario selection of the production. We shoot all the time when we go on a show, and that’s the kind of thing that can happen. I said to myself: ‘That’s it, now it’s done!’ I also liked the script arc that was told to me at that time. Admittedly, this was the end, but it also meant that there was a lot of good stuff to shoot. I said to myself: ‘Louise get out, this is a trip we will remember!’ Killing characters who are expected to stay for a long time also surprises the public like this!

Then this ending of the adventure didn’t disappoint you?

No, it’s part of the game. I’m already lucky to have been shooting for a year and a half. Louise has had a great career and I’m happy with that career.

What memories do you have from the last day of shooting?

My last shot is not the wedding, but the scene where Bart announces that he wants to have a child with Louise. I remember the last few weeks, especially hectic. In a year and a half I started a real family, working with the same people every day. There have been weeks where I’ve said goodbye to teams each time, knowing it’s coming to an end soon. And that last sequence with Hector (Langevin) was beautiful. I’m really happy that I ended up with him because on my first day of shooting there were mostly sequences with him so I could say to myself ‘the cycle is complete’. It was a beautiful day and I will keep it in mind.

Hector Langevin is the actor you’ve shot the most with, it must be even harder to “say goodbye” to him.

He is my main gaming partner and I shared this last feeling with him. There were a lot of actors together when we filmed the wedding, so I felt like I was turning a page with everyone. It was nice.

How did your deal with Hector Langevin go?

He welcomed me very well from the first day of shooting. We quickly found our rhythm of working together. We enjoyed meeting, going through the trajectories of our characters, and we laughed a lot together.

How will Bart react to his wife’s death?

Definitely not going to react well. Bart has already had a difficult experience with Flore, who ends up in a mental institution. He is suddenly imprisoned because of the suspicion of the fire in Varda High School. Barely dating, he proposes to Louise and it turns into drama. But they have resources.

Finally, Bart and Louise’s story is a bit like Romeo and Juliet. They are two crazy lovers…

Exactly! That’s why I found the ending good. We are in a real tragedy and this is our job! Produce bigger and weirder stories than those in real life.

Tell us you’re coming now. What are your projects?

Besides being an actor, I write and direct. I just finished a short film called “Ma biche”. And since the end of tomorrow belongs to us, I started to write again and develop other projects that I will talk about when the time comes.

How do you evaluate your adventure tomorrow belongs to us?

I remember very good encounters. Great work experience. Right after the first isolation, which was not given to all my colleagues in the profession, I had the opportunity to work non-stop for a year and a half. It was a real chance for me!
