You haven’t acted in a detective movie in a few years. What made you come back to this?
Natacha Lindinger: It’s true that this genre is used so much on television that it’s not what excites me the most. However, the psychological aspect of the script seduced me. I love the depiction of my character’s daily life with her husband and family. I also appreciate that this woman is starting to do something she doesn’t understand…
There you think about the fact that she cheated on her husband…
He had never cheated on her because he was committed to her, even if it went less well with him. She blames herself but can’t help but be seduced by another man. I like this duality because it’s not all black or all white. It’s like he was suddenly poisoned or hypnotized. In reality, this is not due to him, but to the very strong harmful power of the man he met. He’s trapped, and it can happen to anyone…
With this character, you play both a loving and lying woman and a caring mother. Is it complicated to play a versatile character?
No, very rich and more interesting. Sometimes when you don’t have much to play exciting you end up playing a little too much or overdoing it, so a complex character is easier.
bury
You appear naked in a few scenes. Does it add to the complexity of the role?
In this story, these scenes are justified and have a reason to exist because her lover possessed her. But I have to admit that shooting is very complicated and somewhat painful. I always regret later. I was extremely shy when I was younger. A few years later I was a little less because I was used to it and could still be filmed nude. The older I get, the more I tell myself that I don’t want to make that effort anymore.
Viewers were used to you playing Sam on a completely different track record. Don’t you regret giving up on this show?
I shot five seasons and got around the character I admired. Even if I was very happy, at some point I was going to caricature myself and wanted time to play other things. I want freedom and I don’t want to be involved in a recurring drama again. I like to do the splits and I’m pretty happy that I’m not locked into a box. It’s true that I miss the general atmosphere because we had a lot of complicity and it was a real pleasure, but the series continues with Hélène de Fougerolles in the lead role.
Do you have projects in television or cinema?
I just finished a movie based on a novel I love. forever parents, by Sophie and Dominique Moulinas (Flammarion). A true story about a mother and father whose son commits a serious crime and kills himself. Shooting was special because I didn’t want to disappoint these parents and tell their story in a rude way. I’m also going to shoot a comedy and have to go with a Franco-Israeli drama.
