Netflix confirms season 6 black mirror, revealed the trailer and launch date, and revealed an impressive roster that includes Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, and Salma Hayek.
The broadcast company has confirmed the cast of Black Mirror season 6 for the first time, after months of speculation and leaks. He also revealed that the series will premiere in June, four years after the previous season.
Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Samuel Blenkin and Zazie Beetz are other players confirmed for this new season.
Netflix named season 6 a “The most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected to date”.
Indeed, even die-hard Black Mirror fans should expect to be surprised by the new stories, according to creator Charlie Brooker.
“I’ve always thought that Black Mirror should offer completely different stories and continue to surprise people (and myself), otherwise what’s the point?” Charlie Brooker told Tudum. “It has to be a series that is not easily identifiable and constantly reinvents itself. So partly as a challenge and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the audience, I started this season by flipping some of my thoughts on basic assumptions about what to expect”.
Set mostly in near-future dystopias, the dark satirical anthology series has seen multiple reruns since it debuted on Channel 4 in 2011, and the series has had a budget boost since it was picked up by Netflix in 2016.
The series will begin in June. The 5th season, which aired in 2019, featured actors such as Miley Cyrus, Andrew Scott and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
