Years ago, Sigourney Weaver she was to play Ellen Ripley again in a fifth Alien film that had been developed by the director Neill Blomkamp. That movie looked like it was going to be great, but unfortunately it never was supposed to be.

It would have been great to see Weever again as Ripley, but now it looks like we’ll never get that opportunity. During a recent interview with Weaver, he said that his days as Ripley are over.
“There are all kinds of younger actors playing these kinds of roles. And there was a Alien [film] which I really wanted to do with Neill Blomkamp and we just couldn’t do it, but, you know, that ship has sailed. I am very happy doing what I am doing. I put my time into space!
Previously speaking about collaborating with Blomkamp, Weaver said: “I can’t think of a better director. He is a real fan. I think he’ll be loyal to the world and take it in unexpected directions. He’s got a lot of nerve in it. He will surely stand up to others and probably also open many new paths.
Weaver and Michael Bihn they were both about to reprise their roles in the film and James Cameron and Weaver both said they loved its screenplay written by Blomkamp. The film never came to fruition, however, as Fox decided to focus Ridley Scottthe vision of the franchise. Scott also said it’s from Blomkamp alien 5 it would never “see the light”.
We’ve seen some really great sketches of the movie before, and every time I see it, I’m disappointed that this movie never happened. The events of the film would pick up after the events of James Cameron’S aliens and ignored the events of Alien 3 AND Alien: Resurrection. There was also another attempt to make another Alien movie with Weaver, but it never seemed to catch on.
20th Century Studios is currently in production on a new Alien movie with evil Dead director Faith Alvarez. The film follows a “group of young people in a distant world who are confronted by the most terrifying life form in the universe”.
I’m excited about that movie, but it’s still a shame we’ll never see Weaver as Ripley again.
