The nearly hour-long special, which was filmed at New York’s Gramercy Theater last September, sees the tough, loving Indian immigrant in full swing, as you can see in this clip below:
Garg, who spent years honing her act in her living room for the family, is currently touring.
The former attorney will be performing stand-up coast-to-coast over the next two months, performing at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, NJ over the next two days. With over half a million followers each on Instagram and TikTok, Garg has amassed over 100 million views on the latter social media platform in the past year.
Featured in last year’s Apple TV+ lineup Waste Hosted by Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, Garg won the 2021 Ladies of Laught Award. Backstage she did Rearrange The screenplay was a semifinalist at Academy Nicholl and won Best Comedy at the Austin Film Festival. In early 2020, the adult romantic comedy was picked up by Sanjay Sharma, CEO and founder of Marginal Mediaworks, and is working with Attic Light Films’ Milan Chakraborty to bring it to the big screen.
Zarna Garg: One in a billion is produced by Amazon Studios and Comedy Dynamics. Garg, Brian Volk-Weiss and Cisco Henson serve as executive producers, along with Christina Shams, Cameron S. Mitchell and Brinda Bhatt.
