The Baltimore native continued, “Also, my current cast mates are amazing. They are some of my closest friends and I am always inspired by them. They are driven, they are driven. Our job can be very difficult at times, but seeing them recover and move forward is just a reminder for me to do the same and I hope someone else can look up to me.”

As for herself, who’s currently inspiring her own play, Ego admitted that sometimes just taking a walk “gets the creativity flowing.” “You will see so many things,” she laughed. “I encourage everyone to go outside to take care of their mental health, but if you need to get your creativity flowing, get outside, you’re going to see some things!”

As the Power of Women presenter for the event, Ego prepared commentary for the honorees. Kelly Ripa, Judy Bloom, Natasha Lyon, Michaela Jae Rodriguez AND perez rose. “I was looking at the list of honorees and I thought, yes, this is a difficult task and a lot of pressure, but I was inspired by them and it helped me,” she explained the process. “As soon as I sat down at my little laptop to try and write my observations, it all started flowing, and it’s pretty special. Women who bring creativity and words of wisdom out of me!”
