After ten years of good and faithful service, the actor’s caring chef Batalla pays homage to tonight’s episode.

The story is about the reintegration of prisoners. Is this an issue that particularly impresses you?

Lionel Astier: The script reminded me of the movie Les Grandes Gueules, written by Robert Enrico, where Bourvil recruits prisoners on parole at the sawmill. The question is, are we going to keep putting people in a prison or are we going to give them a second chance?

This episode formalizes the departure of your character, Angelo Batalla. How did you experience this separation?

With real feeling. Spending a few months of the year together finally starts to form connections! But I’m getting to an age where I want to take part in other projects, especially in theatre. It took me a lot of time to shoot four episodes a year. But I don’t forbid myself from coming back for a wink.

Will you be returning to the cast for season 4? I promise you (season 3 just started on TF1)?

Nothing has been finalized yet and filming should not begin before 2024. First of all, I want to devote myself to the theater. The Comics game directed by Jérémie Lippmann, which I’m playing with Victoria Abril right now in Paris, is a hit! And then at the end of 2023, at the beginning of 2024, the shooting of the second part of the movie Kaamelott le will begin. I won’t have time to be bored!
