SNL’s Weekend Update Features George Santo’s ‘New Lie’ About ‘Spider-Man’ Musical and Donald Trump

Colin Jost and Michael Che returned Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” and took several digs at George Santos and Donald Trump.

Che introduced the first Santos joke of the night, recalling that the congressman had sidelined his committees “to avoid distractions.”

“The last thing I want is attention,” Che Santos claimed, adding: “Then he walked off in a feather boa.”

Then a photo of Santos cross-dressing appeared, reminding viewers of his past. Jost then recalled a reported new lie that had just been discovered about Santos. Santos allegedly lied to campaign donors “that he was a producer of the Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn off the darkness.”

Jost then gave the punch line, adding, “Even though he ended up working with the Green Goblin,” as a photo of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green in green appeared on the screen.

The jokes then shifted to Trump when Che announced that a Saudi Arabian golf tournament would be held at the former president’s golf course.

“Their relationship makes sense, I mean Saudi Arabia needs venues for its golf tournaments and Trump needs oil for that big old garbage truck,” Che joked.

Che wasn’t done with Trump when he fired another shot at him, as they brought up the subject of his testimony at the New York attorney general’s office, where he was repeatedly heard “the fifth hundred times.”

“He also took a fifth, his lawyer,” Che joked when the photo of Rudy Giuliani with a vodka in hand emerged.
