“We don’t drink, but we’re going to have a good time,” he told the outlet.
Cohen’s penchant for meeting Cooper on Dec. 31 became a hot topic recently when he told Rolling Stone of his plans to throw back a little this year despite a CNN booze ban. “CNN said so correspondent won’t drink,” Cohen told Rolling Stone in the story published Dec. 28. “Anderson and I will be the people partying on CNN [though] We will celebrate responsibly. My job is to get Anderson out of his comfort zone [and] My job is to be a party leader for everyone watching on New Year’s Eve. And I continue to do so. And by the way, if the correspondents don’t drink this year, I’m going to party even harder in your name.”

There are some pretty respectable people out there, or at least one, right? I think there’s one serious journalist and then a friend of mine who’s having a lot of fun, but it’s probably a good idea. Although viewers will probably want to drink more. But I think they had something to say about my performance at some point, which I know for sure because of the alcohol, because I don’t think they would have said what they said about our artists if they hadn’t been drinking.”
