Virgin is slashing thousands of fares from $49 in its Black Friday night sale – but you’ve got to be quick

Virgin Australia has run a huge Black Friday Eve sale on domestic and international flights, with some starting from just $49.

The cost of half a million flights between January 10 and June 20 will be reduced under the deal provided tickets are bought before midnight on Tuesday, when the six-day sale ends.

The sale also extends to department store giant Myer, where items from brands such as Vue, Scanpan and The Cooks Collective can be bought for up to 60 per cent off with Velocity points.

The airline’s frequent flyers can also get more points for their money: up to 15 points for every dollar spent on Samsonite products or 10 points for every Saba product.

Holidaymakers can buy a one-way ticket between Sydney and Ballina (Byron Bay) for just $49.

Melbourne residents can escape to Hamilton Island for just $139 one-way or to Perth for $215.

Customers can also receive 4 percent cashback on discounted domestic flights if they book their travel by midnight on Sunday.

If you want to holiday on the Australian coast, you can also buy a discount ticket. The cheapest ticket is a return flight from Sydney to Christchurch for just $435.

Travelers to Bali can also book flights from the Gold Coast or Adelaide for just $449.

Cairns has not been forgotten in the sales, with return flights to Tokyo costing just $679.

Anyone buying Christmas presents online at Myer can shop cashless, popular brands such as Dyson can be bought with Velocity points.

The company’s famous fanless hair dryer, which costs about $500, the Dyson Supersonic, is available for just under 97,000 Velocity points.

If you want to take advantage of the airline’s discounted flights, you can also purchase the Monsac DuraGlide Plus suitcase for just under 34,000 points.

Luxury brands such as Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) and Georgie Armani are also included in the sale.

YSL’s Black Opium 90ml Christmas Gift Set can be purchased for just over 41,000 points, while the Giorgio Armani Si EDP 50ml Set costs just over 30,000 points.

Velocity members can also receive an additional 10 percent off select Apple, Rebel, Supercheap Auto and BCF gift cards through the Velocity Rewards store.
