Tripadvisor reveals where Brits want to spend their winter abroad – and Dubai takes first place, followed by Tenerife in second place and New York ahead of Paris

According to Tripadvisor, Dubai is the number one holiday destination for Brits this winter.

The glittering city of the United Arab Emirates tops the list of top international destinations for Brits to visit in December, January and February.

Tripadvisor compiled the list using search and sentiment data. (positive and negative opinions), with Costa Adeje in Tenerife, Canary Islands coming second in the survey.

In third place is New York, ahead of the popular European cities Paris and Amsterdam, which are fourth and fifth on the list.

The tour operator also announced the top 10 most popular domestic destinations for travel in the months of December, January and February.

London tops the ranking, followed by the Scottish capital Edinburgh in second place and York in third place.

Also on the list are the north-west cities of Liverpool (fourth), Manchester (fifth) and Blackpool (sixth). The rest of the ranking consists of Bath (seventh), Glasgow (eighth), Birmingham (ninth) and Belfast in tenth place.

For those looking for a cheap winter holiday, Tripadvisor recommends booking for January 2024, which appears to be the “cheapest” month.

“The week of January 15 is the cheapest week for Bora Bora, Siem Reap, New York and Paris,” says the travel company.

Looking ahead, it’s set to be a busy year for travel, with Tripadvisor revealing that four in five Britons (83 per cent) plan to book a holiday next year, with around a third (31 per cent) planning to book a holiday within three to four trips a year planned. . Year.
