Just in time for Halloween, Airbnb has revealed the world’s “sickest” Airbnb properties, from a haunted house in America’s deep south to a beautiful Irish castle inhabited by an abandoned ghost.
“Come in if you dare…this stay will surely enchant you,” says Airbnb.

The Haunted Room in Talliston, Great Dunmow, Essex, United Kingdom

“Once an ordinary house in an ordinary street, Talliston House and Gardens has now been transformed into a Gothic wonderland by owner and host John,” says Airbnb.
It says the “haunted bedroom” in the property, which can be rented out through Airbnb, is “decorated in the style of an Edwardian children’s room, complete with books, toys and ephemera.”
Is it actually ghost? The owner previously told The Echo: “People ask me all the time if the house is haunted…”It really depends on whether you believe in ghosts. Or if you can take antique furniture and items with you [them] the ghosts of the Scottish houses from which they came.
“All I know is that when you enter the Edwardian bedroom, the room exudes a ghostly presence far beyond what you can imagine.”
The “Haunted Bedroom” sleeps two people and costs from around £145 per night.
Laura’s Cottage, Savannah, Georgia, USA

Located in the heart of Savannah’s world-renowned Historic Landmark District, this 1799 cottage served as the filming location for director Robert Redford’s 2010 historical drama “The Conspirator.”
Not much is known about the house ghost, but she is said to have once lived in the cabin and could be seen tending the garden, according to Time Out.
According to the Airbnb listing, Laura’s Cottage is a popular stop on local ghost tours.
For four people, rent costs around £242 ($293) per night.
Haunted Nights at Linville Manor, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, USA

As part of your stay at this 1852 rental in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, you’ll be treated to an hour-and-a-half ghost tour of the property, complete with paranormal investigation equipment, Airbnb reveals.
Guests search the historic home by candlelight, with the Airbnb host guaranteeing they’ll be surrounded by ghosts along the way.
With five bedrooms, rental accommodation is available from around £493 ($596) per night.
Ross Castle, Oldcastle, Meath, Ireland

Built in the 15th century, this Irish castle is located an hour’s drive from Dublin on the shores of Lough Sheelin in County Meath.
Guests can enjoy the history of the region in Normandy and enjoy a home-cooked dinner upon request, the Airbnb listing says. But be warned: According to the castle’s website, the resident spirit Sabina is said to wander the halls in despair over her lover, who drowned in a nearby lake.
No wonder Lonely Planet describes it as one of the “10 lesser-known haunted places in the world”.
It can accommodate up to 14 guests and the rental price is approximately £1,387 per night.
Riber Hall Manor, Matlock, Derbyshire, United Kingdom

“This recently restored but very atmospheric Elizabethan country house dates back to the 14th century,” says Airbnb.
The ad states that a secret passageway is rumored to connect the building to the village of Dethick. This settlement was home to an English nobleman who was convicted of plotting to assassinate Elizabeth I and conspiring with the imprisoned Queen Mary of Scots. The list states that Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, is believed to have been held at Riber Hall.
The guest suite in the mansion is furnished with a four-poster bed and a “luxury” bathroom. Breakfast is served in the 15th-century oak-paneled dining room, according to the listing.
Rental accommodation is available from around £63 per night for two people.
Bookeen Hall, Athenry, Ireland

Located just outside Galway city, Brookeen Hall is a former Church of Ireland chapel dating back to 1820.
“The rectangular, stone-built hall with its large Gothic windows and massive bell tower can be seen over fields and forests, making it a distinctive and well-known landmark of the region,” says the Airbnb listing.
While it may look a little haunted from the outside, the interior has undergone a “beautiful” restoration, according to Airbnb. It sleeps up to five guests and has extras such as homemade pastries, a freestanding bath and a reading room in the church’s bell tower.
Rentals are available from around £113 per night.
Library Apartment in the Rensow Mansion, Rensow, Germany

Built in 1690 in northern Germany, this atmospheric country house features a library apartment full of furniture and knick-knacks that the listing says have “historical value.”
Photos show atmospheric dark walls, shelves full of books and gothic candles. “A guest once said he entered another world when he stayed at Rensow Manor,” the ad says.
Two-bed rentals are available from around £104 per night.
Apartment in Dollarbeg Castle, Dollar, Scotland
The ghostly facade may put guests off, but Dollarbeg Castle is described as an “ideal” location for a romantic getaway
“From the outside, Dollarbeg Castle could easily be mistaken for a haunted house, with its Scottish stately towers and elaborate stonework,” says Airbnb.
However, it is noted that the interior of the castle “tells an entirely different story.”
The castle was “beautifully” restored in 2007 and is home to a “cozy” two-bedroom apartment that would be “ideal for short romantic getaways”.
It can accommodate up to four guests and can be rented from £493 per night.
