Dominican Catholic television network Televida has announced that its sixth annual telethon will take place on Sunday, August 30, to raise funds for station operations and seminarian education in Santo Domingo.
The daylong event, held under the motto "A Signal of Hope, a Future of Vocations," will be broadcast nationwide on Channel 41 and across all of the network's digital platforms.

Organisers stated that the central goal of the campaign is to raise funds to sustain the evangelising mission of the television channel while providing financial support for young men studying at the Good Shepherd Minor Seminary.
Televida was inaugurated in 1995 as the first Catholic family channel in the Dominican Republic. For three decades, the station has provided television programming focused on Christian values, human development, and spiritual guidance to Dominican households.
The Rev. Fr. Kennedy Rodriguez, general director of Televida Channel 41, stated that contributions from the public would allow the network to continue its evangelising mission and keep faith alive in the hearts of the people. He added that donor support helps form future pastors while bringing hope to families across the country.
Seminarian education and Gospel inspiration
Students at the Good Shepherd Minor Seminary are preparing to respond to the call of the priesthood. The organization noted that the priestly vocation strengthens community service, spiritual support, and core family values, describing investment in seminarian education as a direct contribution to the nation's spiritual future.
In launching the campaign, the Catholic organization recalled the Gospel passage from Matthew chapter nine, verses 37 to 38. The scripture states that the harvest is abundant but the workers are few, urging the faithful to pray that the owner of the harvest will send workers to gather it.
Fr. Rodriguez remarked that the telethon extends beyond fundraising to center public attention on Jesus Christ during troubled times. He noted that in periods marked by uncertainty, violence, and discouragement, faith serves as a sustaining certainty that gives meaning to suffering and strength to move forward.
He added that every candidate formed for the priesthood represents a promise of spiritual accompaniment for future generations and stands as evidence that God continues to call workers for his harvest, even amidst difficult circumstances.
Sponsorship levels and donation methods
Businesses, institutions, and families can participate as sponsors or benefactors through three distinct contribution tiers designated as Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each sponsorship level provides brand visibility and promotional presence throughout the entire broadcast campaign.
Organisers expect participation from local Catholic parishes, schools, and members of the Dominican diaspora living abroad, who have historically responded with generosity to the channel's fundraising appeals.
Members of the public can follow the live broadcast on the day of the event and contribute through multiple channels, including telephone calls, social media platforms, WhatsApp, and Televida's official website. Detailed information regarding sponsorship plans and collaboration methods is available directly from Televida Channel 41 through its official platforms.
