Greek singer Natassa Bofiliou, composer Themis Karamouratidis and director Gerasimos Evangelatos are bringing their musical show "Metrima" back to the Melina Merkouri Rock Theatre for two performances on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19.
The show was created at a moment of transition for the trio, marking 20 years since they first began working together. It comes a year after they closed the chapter of their previous show, "Kati Kaigetai" ("Something Is Burning"), and just as they open a new one with "Ola Teleia" ("Everything Is Perfect"), a single released on June 12 through their new record label, CUT.
"Metrima," which translates as "Counting," is built around that turning point. The performance moves through songs, words and moments spanning the trio's core repertoire and offers early glimpses of new material, presented in a stripped-back format.
What the trio said about the show
Bofiliou, Karamouratidis and Evangelatos said the show gave them another occasion to take stock of life, counting the years, the people, the songs and the moments that had left their mark on them and on the world around them. A year after the close of what they called the explosive cycle of "Kati Kaigetai," 20 years after their shared journey began, and just before a new chapter opens, they said they had gone back through notebooks, conversations and memories to indulge in their favourite pursuit: a reckoning free of nostalgia, with their gaze fixed on what comes next.
They added that by keeping the authentic emotional core of their repertoire while adding a small taste of what is to come, they were returning to simplicity and preparing the ground for a new, unburdened era that carries the full essence of their art. They said the show worked as both a look back and a countdown, and that they were looking forward to meeting audiences there.
Cast and crew
Karamouratidis handles the orchestrations and also plays piano, while Evangelatos curates the programme. They are joined on stage by Aris Zervas on cello, Giorgos Kastanos on soprano saxophone and keyboards, Giorgos Kardianos on acoustic and electric guitar, Giorgos Bouldis on electric bass and Manolis Giannikios on drums.
Sound is handled by Giannis Paxevanis and Antonis Zachopoulos, with lighting design and operation by Periklis Mathiellis. The poster artwork is by Konstantinos Georgantas.
Tickets and timing
Both performances begin at 9:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. Presale tickets cost 18 euros, rising to 20 euros at the box office. Tickets are available through ticketservices.gr.
