Retired actress Bridget Fonda showed off her slimmed-down figure while grabbing lunch in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The 62-year-old put her arms on display in a sleeveless striped tank top following her dramatic weight loss. She completed the outfit with flowing black pants and sneakers.
Fonda accessorized with a black crossbody bag and wore her silver tresses pinned in an updo.
The former Jackie Brown star has reportedly lost about 100 pounds over the past year. The daughter of the late Peter Fonda and niece of Jane Fonda has reportedly gotten her confidence back following the physical transformation.
Medication and diet
Dr Wilks, a weight specialist in Southern California, spoke to the Daily Mail in February about how the former A-lister could have dropped the weight.
"It looks like she has definitely lost more weight in the last two months, and possibly has dropped as much as 100lbs in the past year," he said.
"First of all, it is likely she used medication," Wilks added. "She could have taken a diabetes drug like GLP-1 which can be found in Zepbound and Ozempic. That would explain the rapid and consistent weight loss."
The doctor said losing the weight without medication would require a strict dietary overhaul. "But if she dropped the pounds naturally there really is only one way she could have done it: by dramatically decreasing sugar, carbs and dairy," Wilks said.
Hollywood comeback
The newfound confidence has reportedly inspired Fonda to consider a Hollywood comeback.
"She has incredible talent, so it's not going to be hard for her to get cast," a source told Star magazine in March.
This contrasts with a statement she made in 2023, when she said there was no chance of returning to film work. "I don't think so, it's too nice being a civilian," she said at the time.
Fonda largely stepped back from the spotlight following a serious rollover car accident in heavy rain in 2003. The crash wrecked her vehicle and left her with two fractured vertebrae.
She married film composer Danny Elfman in November of that same year. After welcoming the couple's son in 2005, she continued to fade from Hollywood to focus on recovery and motherhood.
Decades on screen
Fonda made her film debut at age five in the 1969 movie Easy Rider, which starred her father, Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper.
She was considered one of the best and most in-demand actresses in the late 1980s and 1990s, taking on roles in You Can't Hurry Love in 1988 and Scandal in 1989.
In 1990, she played journalist and photographer Grace Hamilton in Francis Ford Coppola's epic The Godfather Part III.
She then starred in Single White Female opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in 1992. She followed that with roles in It Could Happen To You in 1994 and Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown in 1997, sharing the screen with Robert De Niro, Samuel L Jackson and Pam Grier.
Fonda also appeared in A Simple Plan in 1998, Lake Placid in 1999 and Kiss Of The Dragon in 2001. Her final screen appearance was in the 2002 made-for-television film Snow Queen.
During her retirement, she was photographed at the Los Angeles premiere of Inglourious Basterds at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood in 2009, and was seen again in 2022.
