“I love my grandchildren very much. I regularly babysit everyone, I stay every weekend, and most weeks the clothes, toys, etc. are for my beautiful grandchildren,” the grandmother wrote.
“I also have bank accounts for all my grandchildren that I deposit very little and often into. I also work full time and have an elderly mother to take care of ».
The grandmother revealed that her youngest son’s wife wanted him to take care of her baby as they were having trouble paying the mortgage due to childcare costs.
“They said I could easily quit working because I didn’t need the money from my job (which I loved so much),” she wrote. “They say I’m selfish no matter what I say to them.

The unnamed British woman traveled to Mumsnet to vent her anger after her youngest son and wife asked her to care for their only child four days a week.
‘They start retiring to visit etc. I miss my youngest grandchild. I am very worried and I hate being put in this position.
‘My son and my wife need to take care of the grandchild, because of the mortgage etc. They find it very difficult! I’m so sorry, but I don’t think I can accept all those childcare deals.
Several users criticized the groom’s and bride’s behavior, calling them “irrational and legitimate” as they expected the grandmother to quit the job.
“You absolutely have the right to say no,” one wrote. How do they expect you to give up your job and income (whether you need it or not) to provide them with free childcare?
“They chose to have children. They have to organize their own childcare”.

Another agrees: “They’re completely illogical. No one has the right to seek free help from their parents. Respect your limits, don’t give up on the job you love.
“Continue to show them love, but repeat that their plan didn’t work out for you. How do they know you don’t need money? It doesn’t concern them.
The third wrote: “They are utterly and absolutely illogical. How would you suggest quitting your job? You look like a great grandmother with a lot of grandchildren
“How would others feel if I did that? I can understand how devastated you are, especially when they withdraw visits, but you can’t and shouldn’t babysit for them for free.
“For years I had to pay with a mortgage like millions for childcare. They are completely selfish about putting you in this situation and suggest that if you have a good relationship with your child, you should talk to them about it.
