Watching a good cartoon won’t lift your mood for an hour and a half. And believe me, such cinema therapy will definitely make you smile. What to watch?
“My Neighbor Totoro” (1988)
A masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki about sisters who discover forest spirits near their village home – guardians of the forest led by a strong and good-natured man named Totoro. Gradually, he becomes the girls’ friend and helps them in their daily adventures.
“Wall-e” (2008)
Oscar winner. This is a story about Wall-e, the robot who diligently works on the desolate Earth from year to year, cleaning the planet from the mountains of garbage left behind by people flying into space. And he doesn’t even imagine that new friends, love, and a mission to save the world await him ahead.
“Kung Fu Panda” (2008)
Children’s cartoon with adult style. Gentle, clumsy, and eternally hungry panda Po is chosen as the Dragon Warrior destined to save the world. But neither he, nor the legendary warriors, nor his teacher believe it.
“Up” (2009)
Grumpy 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen thinks life is passing by. To keep his promise to his dead wife, he decides to fulfill his dream of a great adventure by tying thousands of balloons to his home and flying into the wilderness of South America. The absolute hit Pixar won an “Oscar”.
“Fantastic Mr. Fox” (2009)
An animated film by Wes Anderson in the director’s best visual traditions. Tired of the cunning fox’s constant attacks on the chicken coops, the angry farmers are preparing to destroy their enemies and their “cunning” family.
“The Illusionist” (2010)
Scotland is the late 1950s and an elderly magician meets a girl who is convinced she is a real magician. A calm story that will take you on a journey through the streets of Europe.
“Dream Keepers” (2012)
A cartoon with real Christmas spirit that you can (and should) watch, not just on the eve of the main winter holiday. When the evil spirit Kromeshnik rapes the most precious thing – his childhood dreams – the Northman, Ice Jack, Rabbit, Tooth Fairy and Sandman unite for the first time to form a team of dream keepers and protect the world.
“Ralph” (2012)
A secondary character in a video game, Ralph embarks on a journey through modern toys and meets Vanellope von Keks. This is your chance to prove to everyone that you can do more than be broken.
“Puzzle” (2015)
A cartoon approved by psychotherapists and a must-see for everyone. At the heart of the plot are five human emotions that must come to terms with each other and help an 11-year-old girl with her first life tests.
“The Little Prince” (2015)
A modern take on a classic from the director of Kung Fu Panda. A good-natured old aviator believes the world is impossible without fantasy and adventure, and one day enters the life of a little girl who is subject to her pedantic mother’s strict curriculum. It remains only to repair the plane, and on the way – after the aviator’s incredible stories about the Little Prince and distant stars.
“Sing” (2016)
Underneath hundreds of modern musical hits is the story of Buster Moon, the koala who put on a talent show and saved the theater from closing.
Zootopy (2016)
Oscar-winning about Judy Hopps, the brave bunny who dreams of a career in the police of the animal city, and Nick Wilde, the cunning fox who unwittingly becomes her companion. You can watch it several times and find new meanings each time.
“The Secret Life of Pets” (2016)
Let’s be honest, we all wonder what a cat does when left alone at home. The creators of the popular cartoon presented several plausible versions at once – the cat is stuffed with delicious treats from the refrigerator, the poodle listens to rock, and the canary plays a video game. And together they fight evil. Then he goes.
“Soul” (2020)
Perhaps the most incredible Pixar cartoon, it breaks our hearts every time we watch it. A story about a call in life and the important little things we miss in the daily hustle and bustle.
“Luke” (2021)
Sea monsters disguised as simple men are exploring the human world. A soft summer tale about a carefree childhood.
