goth king

Tim Burton is the director of ‘Wednesday’, a series that represents his definitive approach to the world of the Addams. And it’s that Burton turned down the opportunity to direct the 1991 big screen adaptation, directed by Ricci, Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston; and he almost signed a stop-motion animated film based on the drawings of Charles Addams. Now you can finally give your signature gothic touch to the adventures of this peculiar family, a story that captivated the director from the very beginning.

“When I read the script, it reminded me of how I felt in school and how you feel about your parents. It gives the Addams Family a different kind of reality, which I found interesting.. In 1976 I went to a high school prom, that was the year Carrie got out. I felt like a male version of Carrie at that prom. I had this feeling of having to be there but not being a part of it. That feeling won’t leave you as much as you want. Eventually Wednesday and I have the same view of the world”Burton states in the declarations to the Empire.

* Subsequent previews of ‘Wednesday’ November 23 on Netflix.
