Comedian Joe Lycett revealed that a fan who witnessed one of his last performances called the police because he found one of his lines “too offensive.”

The 33-year-old Birmingham prankster revealed he was questioned by police after receiving a complaint for a joke that used the phrase “giant ass d***”.

On social media, Lycett shared the police message that the case was closed, expressing her dismay at being reported in the first place.

He wrote: “A few weeks ago, someone came to my tour show and was offended by one of the jokes. And their perfectly understandable answer to that… call the damn police.

He added that “Füzz” was “beautiful”, but was tasked with investigating the complaint further, “This involved writing them a description explaining the contents of the joke; I particularly liked putting the word “giant ass-fucking” in a message sent to a police detective.

Lycett said he doesn’t plan on taking the line from his current set while touring the UK with More, More, More! to show.

He said: “You’ll be happy to know that the line that I think is one of the best I’ve written is determined and proud in the drama.

“The tour will continue until September unless he goes to jail.”

After reading Joe’s investigative reports, many were surprised that the police were investigating.

“The prank was funny and innocent,” said one person watching the show.
