A 30-year-old woman expecting a baby from her 60-year-old husband was candid about the horrific hatred she saw on social media, including when trolls said their baby would die when they were five years old.
Larry and Mindy Mikla from Florida started dating in 2015; They met after Mindy was in a car accident and Larry, a police officer at the time, came to help her.

According to Mindy, who has more than 265,000 subscribers to her YouTube account, she posted videos for a full year before introducing Larry to her channel and immediately noticed a slew of negative comments she was “not ready for.” front.

The couple talked about the horrific backlash they got due to their age gap, including when trolls said he looked like his “grandparents” to them and their romance was “raw”.
Others said that Larry would die when their baby was five years old.

“I think social media is becoming less and less accepted,” the mom-to-be continues.
“Since the pregnancy announcement, a new wave of hate has emerged, … [people saying] How selfish of decision.
“The funny thing about the hate comments and the vulgar comments is that we haven’t seen anyone come to us and say it face-to-face.
“They’re just keyboard warriors. They don’t say it to our face, but they don’t have a problem writing it either.”
Although Mindy acknowledged that social media has some positive aspects, such as connecting with others, she described it as a “cruel and critical place.”
“You can find common ground with other people and not feel so alone, and that’s the beauty of social media,” she explains.
She said she was “off-guard” to all this hate and that it was “a bit of a shocker” and said, “I wasn’t ready. Now I’ve obviously developed thick skin and I’m fine, but it’s been a journey.
The couple said the hatred has gotten worse since they announced they were getting ready to welcome a baby together last year.
Although Mindy acknowledged that social media has some positive aspects, such as connecting with others, she described it as a “cruel and critical place.”
Mindy concluded: “We do not shoot photo videos submitted for comment. We do this because we love to share our life with others and hope it will be recognized by someone else’
“But the downside is that it’s brutal: it can be a very brutal and critical place, which is difficult to deal with. If I could say something to our online enemies, that would be fine.”
Despite all the negative reactions, the couple tries to focus on the funny ones.
