The opening ceremony of the III International First Eurasian Continent Film Festival “The Sixth One” took place in the Ekaterinburg Cinema and Concert Theater “Cosmos”, where projects from Russia, China, France, Iran, Norway, Germany, Serbia, Mongolia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Kazakhstan, Israel, Pakistan and Portugal were presented.
The hosts of the evening: actress Daria Kharchenko, winner of the “Best First Film” award at the One Sixth festival in 2023, and Yekaterinburg TV and radio presenter Vlad Izyumenko.
First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region Yulia Prytkova addressed the audience with a welcoming speech from the stage. The head of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, Olga Lyubimova, congratulated the organizers on the start of the show in a video message.
The opening film of the festival was Headlong, starring Yegor Koreshkov and Nadezhda Mikhalkova. The film was presented by a film crew led by the head and director of the show, Evgeny Grigoriev. “When I turned 45, I realized that the main thing in any festival is not victory, but participation, so be sure to go to the cinema and let the participants watch each other’s films,” the director emphasized. Pavel Derevyanko, who starred in the film, also agreed with his words. The actor noted that the project was made with love.
Other industry representatives also attended the event: Susanna Alperina, actor Ilya Skvortsov, general producer of the Sverdlovsk Film Studio Olga Erofeeva – Muravyova, actor Stefan de Durfort, director Nikita Miklushov and others.
Let us remind you that dozens of films will compete for victory in the main feature film competition. The works of the contestants will be evaluated by a professional jury: director Tom Weller, actor Mikhail Troynik, director of “Polar” Konstantin Statsky and member of the Casting Directors Guild Maria Gogotova.
The jury of the documentary film competition: producer, director Yuri Dorokhin, general producer of the Regional Cinema Support Fund of the Union of Cinematographers, director Ella Tukhareli and editor Konstantin Larionov.
It is also worth noting that the festival will be held in Yekaterinburg from August 2 to 7 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region.
