According to The Playlist, David Fincher (“Seven,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “The Social Network”) is working on a remake of the popular South Korean series “The Squid Game.”
According to available information, the director hired Dennis Kelly (“Matilda” and “Black Sea”) to write the script. It has not yet been announced who exactly will do the shooting.
David Fincher first announced plans to adapt the series in 2021. Since then, the director has also worked on a prequel to Roman Polanski’s 1974 film noir classic Chinatown. It is known that the script of the film was already ready, but the director decided to postpone work on the project for the remake of “The Squid Game”.
