The Boys’ executive producer Eric Kripke has made it clear that the multi-episode series could be extended beyond the fifth season. A few years ago he said he would only do five seasons. The showrunner also drew an analogy to “Supernatural,” which was planned for the same number of seasons but was “extended” to 15 seasons.

The showrunner eventually decided not to give up, and he was right. Now that Amazon has ordered the fifth season before the fourth season is released, Kripke has become even stricter about his promises. “I have since learned not to give an exact number of seasons as someone who is the most inaccurate person in the history of entertainment about how many seasons his show should have,” the producer said, as quoted by Inverse.
Prime Video also doesn’t expect the successful series to end anytime soon. Amazon general manager Vernon Sanders told Entertainment Weelkly that Kripke “has had a vision for where this business could go for years, and we’re constantly talking about what the next step will be.”
“If Eric wanted to continue the story, we would be first in line to work with him on it,” the head of the publishing department said. By the way, we are waiting for the continuation, let’s see who you will appear with in the TV series “The Boys”!
