A new “filters” feature has recently appeared in the Masterpiece app. And of course we tested this on our photos first. We then decided to see what the editors’ favorite movie characters would look like in different styles.

What is a masterpiece?
This is a Yandex mobile application where users can create original videos, images and text using neural networks. YandexART is responsible for images and animations, and YandexGPT is responsible for texts. Now the developers have added a new “filters” function. Stylizes original photos and user images in eight creative modes: plush or knitted toys, cartoon frames, pixel art, and brushed images. You can also add a winter mood, neon glow and colorful flowers to the image.
How to use this?
To stylize, you need to choose one of the filters you like and upload a photo from the gallery, then the neural network will “create” the desired result. Modified images can be published to the Masterpiece stream, memes or sticker packs can be created from them, or simply saved and displayed at any opportunity. Meanwhile, the ability to create your own filters using text queries, among other creative modes, will be available in Masterpiece soon.
We’ve already tested all the creative modes to see how Forrest Gump, Frodo, Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter will look in different styles. Your turn!
Captain Jack Sparrow

We decided to start with the most charismatic pirate to sail the oceans, Captain Jack Sparrow. For him, we used “filters”, “cartoon” (now we want to see an animated series with his participation) and “brush” (how else can we portray such greatness).
Frodo

Our editor-in-chief loves The Lord of the Rings, so we handed over the entire reworking of Frodo to him. Now the entire editorial team wants a copy of the cute hobbit made in “plush” mode. And after Frodo’s neon mode, we want to see the director’s cut from the movie where he enters the club with the other hobbits.
Harry Potter

Harry Potter can rightfully be called one of the most recognizable filmed book characters. But what if you turn it into an anime? So, with the help of the “flowers” effect, he became not only a great sorcerer, but also the main antagonist of any manga in the shojo genre. And the “blocks” filtered version now hangs on the computer of the editor of this text.
Forrest Gump

Last but not least was Forrest Gump. Here we decided to play with the “winter” mode (thanks to which it seems at least strange to watch the original scene in the summer) and the “thread” to give it a magical and melancholic look, now it seems to us that the hero fit perfectly into the main cast of Sesame Street ”
