Marvel exec Brad Winderbaum provides a cryptic update on the return of JESSICA JONES

After Daredevil made the leap from the Netflix series to the MCU via a few cameos and finally to the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Againfans thought it was a matter of time before we saw some of the other Defenders make the leap into the MCU.

The Punisher has already appeared and it has been announced that Jessica Jones will also join the pair in the next season, but some are wondering if we might see her continue her storyline in her next show.

Marvel executive and head of streaming, television and animation, Brad Winderbaumwas recently asked during an interview with the Phase Hero podcast (via SuperHeroHype) about when the character, played by Kristen Rittermay be getting its own Disney+ revival project. “[It’s coming] maybe sooner than you think,” Winderbaum joked.

When Ritter joined the podcast episode afterwards, she also hinted that there would be a lot more to explore with Jessica Jones now that she’s back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “There’s a lot of things that I felt there was room to explore, and Brad and I talked about it. And I’m not going to say any of that, because we will.”

Created by Melissa Rosenberg, Jessica Jones follows Ritter’s title character, a former superhero turned private investigator, as he opens his own detective agency, Alias Investigations, and works to stop the evil Kilgrave. Jessica Jones is notable for being the only other Marvel series besides Daredevil to last longer than two seasons on Netflix, with its three 13-episode seasons releasing in 2015, 2018, and 2019.

If Marvel were working on a new Jessica Jones series, it would mark the studio’s third project featuring a major Netflix character, following Daredevil and The Punisher. The former is already in development for its third season Born againwhile the latter is in production for a special presentation by Marvel Studios. Both are expected to be released in 2026 on Disney+.

All three characters will appear Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which premieres on Disney+ is scheduled for March 2026.
